Some of you know what a first look is and some don’t. Well let me take a moment and explain what it is and why you should consider it!
A First Look isn’t for everyone, and it’s not the “traditional” thing to do. But if photography is important to you, then you should seriously consider a First Look. Here are some pros and cons of doing one.
CONS
- If you’re traditional, a First Look could take away from the build up of walking down the aisle.
- Your guests won’t be able to see that “first look” you and your groom have when you’re walking down the aisle.
- Chances are good that you might cry when walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first tim
PROS
- You can see each other for the first time and enjoy some quiet moments alone with each other.
- You will get some awesome photographs of you and your soon-to-be husband and have ample time to do so. The emotion captured by your photographer is truly a once in a lifetime emotion.
- This can be more comfortable for the groom! Then he won’t feel so pressured to react a certain way when you are walking down the aisle!
- Having a First Look will allow you to have most of your photos done before the ceremony. Then you don’t have to stress about rushing to get all the photos done before the luncheon or reception.
- You won’t feel rushed getting pictures taken after the ceremony.
- Every couple i have worked with has never regretted doing it!
There are A LOT of pros to having a First Look. But doing a First Look is completely your decision. Don’t feel pressured into having to do it. I’m just here to share some insight and personal experience. As for my experience i never did one. I kind of wish i had. I didn’t do one because i didn’t think my husband would have any reaction but i was wrong and wish i could change that! So now i want my brides to have that chance to do it!
