Elopement in Utah | Colin + Karlie | Utah Wedding Photographer
Elopement in Utah
Karlie and Colin wanted to have an Elopement in Utah. They wanted to get married at the top of mount Naomi. It was a 3.3 mile hike. I didn’t think it would be to hard. I was wrong! Their family are avid hikers and I thought I was going to die on that hike. They were going up this mountain so fast, I was shocked! Colin was super nice though and carried my camera bag part of the way. Once we got to the top you could see every valley on each side. It was one of the coolest things! I am so glad I was able to do it.
How they met
“I moved to Utah in the fall of 2017 to take a new job-I had never been to the state before I moved. Terri (Colin’s mom) graciously invited me to stay with them in my first few weeks so I could make living arrangements from here, etc. Colin was involved in wildland fire fighting at the time, and I did not know that Terri had a son until I arrived. I thought he was a wild man, but since I didn’t have a car when I moved, he took me around to show me local trails and drove me all over. He was my first friend here and it didn’t take long for him to sneak up on me!”
How he proposed
“We went on a hike up Crimson Trail in May. True to Colin’s form, it was a very simple gesture. He had the ring made by a local artist favorite of mine, and when we reached the top of the trail, he got down on one knee. His mom was with us and prayed over us-it was very pure, and unexpected!”
